NCVRW 2021

April 18-24 is National Crime Victims' Rights Week! This year's celebration of victims' rights is particularly special here in Wisconsin, where our state is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the passage of Marsy's Law for Wisconsin with an overwhelming 75% of the vote.

This year's NCVRW theme is, "Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities." This theme emphasizes the importance of leveraging community support to help victims of crime. In Wisconsin, we know firsthand how important community support is in ensuring support for victims of crime, in particular, through the overwhelming community support which led to the passage of Marsy's Law for Wisconsin last April, and the real and lasting impact the new crime victims' constitutional amendment has had for Wisconsin victims.

We hope you'll join us in this observance of the importance of victims' rights! Get more information below on events that you can participate in throughout the week, and check out our media kit for shareable images that you can use on your own social media accounts to join us in a digital celebration of the power of community support of victims of crime.

Events

In an effort to educate Wisconsinites about their rights if they are ever a victim of crime, we have organized three virtual roundtable discussions during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The regional roundtables will include survivors, victim advocates, and law enforcement leaders. The conversation will provide practical tips to break down barriers to accessing rights and demystify the process.

We hope you can join us for one of these virtual events. Here is the information on each roundtable and a link you can follow to learn more and RSVP:
