Inspired by You - Janel's Thoughts

Dear Friends,

As part of the Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin communication team, I’ve been lucky to be able to get to know many of our supporters and hear their stories. This holiday season, our team wanted to take a moment to share some of our stories and tell you about all the things that we’re thankful for here at Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin.

This Thanksgiving season, I am grateful for family, friends, and the incredible Wisconsinites I have had the opportunity to work with through Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin. As Marsy’s Laws’ communications intern, I have enjoyed talking to folks from communities across our state. The people I have met are fighting to make equal rights for crime victims a Wisconsin reality and their energy is incredibly contagious and inspiring.

I am also thankful for Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin’s hardworking and encouraging team. This team is willing to go the extra mile in every way, in order to ensure strengthened victims’ rights. With your help, we had a remarkable success as we passed in the State Assembly and Senate with bipartisan support! I am truly thankful for the opportunity to intern for something I whole-heartedly believe in, while I am pursuing my undergrad at the University of Wisconsin.

I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the University of Wisconsin. I have spent the past semester sharing Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin’s initiative with my peers and professors. I feel overjoyed when they ask how they too can get involved or how they can support the mission of equal rights for crime victims. It is their optimism which leads me to confidently believe, we will make Marsy’s Law a Wisconsin reality.
